- An activist group in Houston lobbied the Houston Library for months to disclose information regarding ‘Drag Queen story hour.’
- The group ‘Mass Resistance‘ began digging on their own when their requests went unanswered and discovered one drag queen was a sex offender.
- Alberto Garza, a.k.a. Tatiana Mala-Niña, was convicted in 2008 for sexually assaulting an 8-year-old boy.
- Library officials admit they did not perform a background check, violating their own rules.
The American Library Association is promoting ‘Drag Queen story hour’ – and may be destroying documents to hide their goals.
The pro-family group Mass Resistance revealed that one of the drag queens reading to elementary students at the Houston Public Library is a convicted sex offender. The activist group had been lobbying the library for more information on Drag Queen Story Hour when they decided to do some digging of their own.
They discovered Alberto Garza, a.k.a. Tatiana Mala-Niña, was convicted in 2008 for sexually assaulting an 8-year-old boy. When confronted about this information, the Houston Public Library apologized.
The library had not run a background check on Garza or any of the other drag queens they promoted to read to children.
Mass Resistance announced that it would be releasing more compromising information about other drag queen performers in the coming months.
Dan Kleinman is an advocate for safe libraries who works for public awareness of crime, sexual harassment in libraries, and inappropriate books in schools due to American Library Association (ALA) policy. Kleinman helped Mass Resistance expose this story and has submitted FOIA requests for more documents related to the Drag Queen Story Hour.
Culttture spoke with Dan on the phone he says the situation is much worse than anyone thinks. Dan has caught the ALA destroying documents before in other matters, and has found them ordering their employees to destroy documents that have been requested.
Drag queen story hour is being promoted around the country. Back in October 2017, ‘Xochi Mochi’ the demon drag queen was allowed to read to elementary students at the Michelle Obama library in Long Beach, California. The library removed this photo after it went viral amid public outcry.
Despite the Houston library’s assurances about the safety of its program, some parents are not satisfied and believe the revelation of a convicted pedophile reading to children confirms their worst fears. Last November, a drag queen commented Drag Queen story hour “is going to be the grooming of the next generation.”
