Kim Kardashian West Reaches 160 Million Followers on Instagram

Kim Kardashian West is now ranked 6th on the platform in terms of follower count.


Ranked #26 on Forbes’ World’s Highest-Paid Entertainers in 2019, Kim Kardashian West has reached 160 million followers on Instagram. Kim now trails her youngest sister Kylie Jenner by just 2 million followers.

According to GQ, Kardashian West ranks at #6 in their Top 15 Most Followed People on Instagram. Topped only by Cristiano Ronaldo (203 mil), Ariana Grande (174 mil), Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (171 mil), Selena Gomez (168 mil), and her sister Kylie Jenner (162 mil), these celebrities make millions in endorsements posted on Instagram.

A staple for any popular influencer to reach the masses, Instagram hosts nearly 1 billion users each month. Kim is no novice to social media platforms and has revealed she receives between $300,000-$1.27 million for ONE sponsored post on her Instagram account.

Speaking at the Lincoln Center Appel Room at the Time Warner Center, Kardashian West spoke to Instagram’s recent removal of likes:

“As far as mental health… I think taking the likes away and taking that aspect away from [Instagram] would be really beneficial for people.”

“I know the Instagram team has been having a bunch of conversations with people to get everyone’s take on that and they’re taking it really seriously, and that makes me happy,” Kim continued.

Kim began doing endorsement deals in the early 2000s, but quickly began to focus on social media and her hit E! show Keeping Up With the Kardashians and creating her own fragrance, beauty, and fashion brand.

KKW FRAGRANCES:

Kim began her fragrance line KKW Fragrance in 2017 with KKW Body I, Body II and Body III, where the bottle was designed to reflect Kim’s killer phasique. New perfumes were soon to follow including the Kimoji Hearts Collection, Kimoji Perfumes, The KKW Crystal Gardenia Collection, Kylie Jenner by KKW Fragrance, and the KKW Diamond Fragrance line, featuring her sisters Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian. Crystal Violet Musk is the latest addition to the KKW Fragrance line.

KKW BEAUTY:

Kim also frequently posts photos of her KKW Beauty line which consists of a wide range of makeup products including face baking and brightening powders, body foundation, concealer, contour kits, brushes and tools, blush, pressed and loose pigments, and a wide range of lipsticks and glosses that cater to a wide range of skin tones.

In addition to fragrance and the makeup industry, Kim Kardashian West also recently launched her shapewear line Skims at Skims.com as well as at Nordstrom. The newest edition to the line is the Cozy Collection (seen below).

Though Kim’s Instagram account often features photos from red carpet events and promotional photos for her dozens of business ventures (highlighting her fashion, fragrance and beauty lines), the 39-year-old mogul and mother of four also posts intimate photos of her family.

“It is tricky and when I raise my kids, I think about screen time, phone time, what to post, what not to post,” Kardashian West explained.

Kim also posts short clips from her husband Kanye West’s Sunday Services, normally seen on her Instagram “stories”.

The Sunday Service Choir, led by Grammy Award winner Kanye West has performed every week since their first performance in January 2019 and has been featured on West’s latest album Jesus is King. Jesus is Born, the Sunday Service Choir’s debut album, was released Christmas Day in 2019.

In an April 2019 interview with Vogue, Kim Kardashian West revealed she only spends about 30 minutes a day on Instagram. When asked how she decides what to post on Instagram, Kim replied, “I just do whatever I feel.”
